Gift With Purchase
Overview
The Gift with Purchase feature allows you to offer a free gift to customers when they meet certain order criteria. This guide will walk you through the setup process and explain how the feature works for your customers.
Configuring Gift with Purchase
Step 1: Access Program Settings
- Log into your Raleon account.
- Navigate to the "Settings" menu.
Step 2: Enable the Feature
- In the Settings menu, click on "Extensions."
- Locate the "Gift with Purchase" settings on this page.
Step 3: Select the Gift Product
- Click the drop down to select the free gift. You'll see a list of all the product SKUs in your inventory to choose from.
- Choose the product you want to offer as a free gift.
Step 4: Set Minimum Order Amount (Optional)
- If desired, set a minimum order amount.
- This ensures the free gift is only added when the cart value exceeds this threshold.
Step 5: Enable the Feature
- Once you've configured your settings, click the "Enable" button.
- This action will collapse the Gift with Purchase configuration and set it live on your store.
Note: After enabling, the configuration will be locked. To make changes, disable the feature and then re-enable it with new settings.
How It Works for Customers
Once configured, the Gift with Purchase feature operates automatically:
- When a customer's cart qualifies (meets or exceeds the minimum order value, if set), the free gift is automatically added to their cart.
- The gift appears in the cart with a "Free Gift" label and it's price set to 0.
- If the cart value drops below the threshold (e.g., by removing items), the free gift is automatically removed.
- If the cart value increases above the threshold again, the free gift is automatically re-added.
The system dynamically updates the cart based on:
- Changes in item quantities
- Addition of new products to the cart
- Removal of items
This ensures the free gift is always correctly applied or removed based on the current cart status.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with the Gift with Purchase feature, try the following:
- Disable and re-enable the feature to refresh the settings.
- Double-check that the selected gift product is in stock and active in your inventory.
- Verify that the minimum order amount (if set) is correct and aligns with your business goals.
