How to Configure VIP Loyalty

Getting Started

Enabling VIP Loyalty

  1. Enable VIP Toggle:

    • Navigate to the VIP section in your Raleon dashboard.
    • Turn on the Enable VIP toggle. This activates the VIP configuration settings and analytics backend. Note that this does not make the VIP program visible to customers yet.

  2. Make VIP Live:

    • After configuring your VIP tiers, click the VIP Live toggle to make the VIP program available in your store. If VIP Live is toggled to Active, shoppers will see your VIP program live on the storefront.

Configuring VIP Tiers

VIP tiers allow you to create different levels of loyalty rewards for your customers. Here’s how to set them up:

  1. Add a Tier:

    • Click the Add button next to tiers. For the first tier, the points required to enter will default to zero.
    • In the modal that appears, name your tier (e.g., Bronze, Silver, Gold)
    • Optionally, add an image for branding purposes, which will be visible to shoppers.

  2. Configure Tier Thresholds:

    • In the same modal you can set the entry threshold for the tier. For tiers above the lowest level, set the points threshold required to enter. The system ensures seamless transitions between tiers with no gaps.
    • By default, tier entry is based on the total points earned by each customer over the prior 12 months. VIP Tier eligibility updates over time based on the same rolling 12-month points accumulation period.
      • In the future, we intend to include additional configuration for tier entry.

  3. Save and Edit Tiers:

    • After creating a tier, click Save. You can go back and edit the tier name, image, and other settings anytime by clicking the Edit button.

Adding Perks, Ways to Earn and Rewards

VIP Tiers allow you to create 3 types of unique experiences for your customers in the tier, Perks, exclusive Ways to Earn, and Rewards.

Adding VIP Perks

VIP perks are benefits available to customers as soon as they enter a tier. These are not contingent on specific actions and include:

  1. Points Multiplier:

    • Earning 1.5x or 2x points on purchases.

  2. Free Shipping:

    • See our separate documentation here for more detail on free shipping configuration.

  3. Custom Perks and Custom Perks with Button:

    • You can create custom perks by entering descriptive text and uploading an image. These perks can represent anything, such as exclusive access to events or limited edition products. They will not automatically trigger any actions by or for your customers.
    • Custom Perks are used for more advanced configuration in Shopify (like free shipping).
    • Custom Perks are also very useful for offline rewards like Early Access, Events, etc.

Configuring VIP Ways to Earn

VIP Ways to Earn are specific actions customers can take to earn additional rewards, exclusively available for VIP members only:

  1. Add Exclusive Ways to Earn:

    • Define actions exclusive to VIP tiers, such as making a certain number of purchases, buying from a specific collection, or following your brand on social media.
    • In Raleon, you are able to configure any supported Way to Earn inside the VIP tier.

  2. Birthday Bonuses:

    • Customize birthday rewards for VIP members. For instance, while all customers might receive 10 points on their birthday, VIP members could receive additional points or a special coupon. For this Way to Earn, the points and rewards are additive and show as a single Way to Earn for your VIP customers.

Setting Up VIP Rewards

VIP Rewards are exclusive incentives available only to VIP members:

  1. Configure Rewards:

    • Create rewards such as cash coupons, percentage off coupons, free products, etc.
    • These rewards are only accessible to customers in the VIP tiers.

  2. Manage Reward Restrictions and Branding:

    • All standard reward restrictions apply.
    • Configure branding, copy, and images as needed.

Monitoring and Optimization

After setting up your VIP Loyalty Program:

  1. Launch VIP Live:
    • Toggle VIP Live to active to make your VIP program visible to customers.
  2. Email Marketing Integration:
    • Raleon supports sending events to email marketing systems like Klaviyo.
    • Once your integration to Klaviyo is in place, the system will automatically send events whenever a customer enters a new tier. You can use these events to trigger flows and automated campaigns in Klaviyo, supporting your VIP program and benefits.
