Raleon's Email Automation for Loyalty

Raleon's Email Automation feature allows you to send automated, transactional emails to your loyalty program members based on specific events in their loyalty journey. This guide will walk you through setting up and using this feature effectively.

When to Use Email Automation in Raleon

Use Raleon's Email Automation for:

  • Sending welcome emails when customers join your loyalty program
  • Notifying customers of points balance changes
  • Informing customers about earned or claimed rewards (future release)
  • Sending referral-related notifications (future release)

Raleon's Email Automation is not designed to be a replacement for Klaviyo or other dedicated email platforms. For more sophistication, we encourage you to try our Klaviyo Integration.

Raleon Email Automation is intended for simple, transactional emails related to your loyalty program. For more complex email marketing needs, consider using a dedicated email platform like Klaviyo in conjunction with Raleon's Klaviyo integration.

Accessing Email Automation

  1. Log in to your Raleon dashboard
  2. Navigate to the "Communication" tab
  3. Select "Email Automation"

Configuring Email Templates

Event Types

Raleon offers email templates for different loyalty events:

  • Joined loyalty program
  • Points balance change
  • (Future) Reward given/claimed
  • (Future) Referral sent/completed

To configure an email template:

  1. Click on the desired event type or the "Edit" button next to it
  2. Use the editor to customize your email

Email Content

For each template, you can customize:

  • Subject line
  • From name
  • Logo
  • Header image
  • Content (title, subtitle, body text)
  • Call-to-action button
  • Footer information

To edit these elements:

  1. Click on the respective field or section in the editor
  2. Make your desired changes
  3. Preview your email using the preview function
  4. Save your changes

Personalization with Merge Tags

Use merge tags to personalize your emails. Supported tags today:

  • {{balanceChange}}: Displays the number of points earned or deducted. Emails are not sent when balances decrease.
  • {{totalPoints}} : Displays the customers total points balance

To use merge tags:

  1. Place your cursor where you want to insert the merge tag
  2. Type the merge tag, including the double curly braces
  3. Preview your email to ensure the merge tag is correctly placed

Smart Send Feature

Smart Send helps prevent email fatigue by limiting the frequency of emails sent to your customers.

To enable Smart Send:

  1. Navigate to the template
  2. Find the SmartSend toggle
  3. Switch it to "On"

When enabled:

  • Raleon will not send another email to a customer within 24 hours of their last email

To disable SmartSend:

  1. Navigate to the Email Automation settings
  2. Find the SmartSend toggle
  3. Switch it to "Off"

Even with Smart Send off, Raleon will still aggregate events within 15-minute intervals to prevent excessive emails.

For example, if a new customer joins loyalty and receives a Welcome Bonus and Social Media bonus within 15 minutes, they will receive 1 email that covers both of those points balance changes.
